Launching the Saudi Visa Bio application in Bangladesh
In accordance with the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, and with the help of Prince Faisal bin Farhan Bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Saudi Visa Bio app for self-registration of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims' biological characteristics was launched in its second phase in Bangladesh.
The Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Issa bin Youssef Al-Duhailan, with the participation of the following government agencies: the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Presidency of State Security, the National Cybersecurity Authority, The Saudi Data and AI Authority. In addition to several Hajj and Umrah offices, and President of the Association of Hajj in the Republic of Bangladesh Muhammad Shahadat Hossain.
The application will allow Bangladesh citizens seeking Hajj and Umrah visa to register their characteristics via smartphones, avoiding the need to visit visa issuance centers, as their visas will be issued electronically.
It will be simpler for pilgrims to enter Saudi Arabia as they only will go through a matching process once they arrive rather than having to re-register their biological characteristics.
Saudi Arabia is the first country uses smartphone registration for biological characteristics for visa applicants.
